Training is an essential, ongoing part of any high-quality organization. We provide this training both on the job and in our training kitchens.

Training covers a wide variety of topics. Here's a brief list of some of the subjects we cover:

  • personal hygiene and safety
  • foodservice sanitation
  • slips, trips and falls
  • Material Safety Data Sheets
  • safe lifting
  • safe knife use & handling
  • fire extinguisher use
  • lockout/tagout

This list is by no means exhaustive. Our Safety Director reviews new materials with an eye to improve safety communication, and frequently updates our training materials.

We also conduct in-service training in menu and recipe preparation. For example, we train our cooks in low-fat, low-sodium and low-cholesterol meal preparation.

Our in-house Dietetary Technician also develops diabetic menu items and trains staff in their preparation.
